Purpose doesn’t retire.

Top 7 Over 70™ celebrates people over 70 who are still starting, creating, building and making a difference.

We’re looking for seven people from Regina and southern Saskatchewan whose new achievements began, were meaningfully revived or took a new direction after they turned 70.

Inaugural Celebration: April 27, 2027 · Turvey Centre, Regina

A new chapter can make a big difference

This video provides an overview of the Top 7 Over 70™ initiative in Alberta, where the program began. The goal is to see the initiative grow coast to coast across Canada, and we’re excited to bring the inaugural event to Regina and southern Saskatchewan.

Turning 70 is often treated as a finish line. Top 7 Over 70™ celebrates a different story: people continue to discover new possibilities, take on new challenges and contribute in meaningful ways throughout their lives.

This is not a lifetime achievement award. It recognizes what someone has begun, meaningfully revived or reinvented after turning 70—and the difference that work is making now.

Achievements may come from agriculture, business, science, education, health and wellness, arts and culture, philanthropy, volunteerism, community leadership or any other field. There are no fixed award categories.

“Turning 70 is not the end of someone’s story—it can be the beginning of an extraordinary new chapter. Top 7 Over 70™ will recognize people who continue to create, lead, serve and inspire.”
— Todd Klink, Event Chair

A growing Canadian movement

Top 7 Over 70™ began in Calgary in 2017 with a simple idea: recognize people for what they are accomplishing after 70. The program has since expanded to communities across Canada, challenging outdated assumptions about aging and shining a light on new contributions.

The Regina and Southern Saskatchewan celebration will bring the program to Saskatchewan for the first time.

Who should be nominated?

Nominees must:

  • Be 70 years of age or older.
  • Live in southern Saskatchewan, from Davidson south.
  • Have started something new—or taken an earlier pursuit in a substantially new direction—after turning 70.
  • Be able to show meaningful current results, momentum or impact.

The key question is:

What did this person begin, revive or reinvent after turning 70—and what difference is it making?

Earlier work can be part of the story. The nomination should make clear what’s new about this chapter and why it matters today.

Who might you nominate?

Perhaps you know someone who launched a community initiative, started a business, developed a new agricultural practice, began a creative pursuit or found a new way to help others.

Look across the whole region: Regina and rural communities, different fields and backgrounds, and people whose contributions may be known mainly to those around them. Nominees don’t need to be public figures, business owners or previous award winners.
